This report asks whether car sharing is a cost-effective management solution for Peace Corps to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Through the study's hypothesis, the purpose of examining the cost of car sharing is to evaluate how future investments in a car sharing service may impact the ability of Peace Corps staff to meet mission goals and achieve agency level Executive Order (EO) 13514 targets. Signed October 5, 2009, The Executive Order requires Federal agencies to submit a 2020 greenhouse gas pollution reduction target and to increase energy efficiency, reduce fleet petroleum consumption, conserve water, reduce waste, support sustainable communities, and leverage Federal purchasing power to promote environmentally-responsible products and technologies.
