In times of shorter product-life-cycles and new restrictions the requirements for industrial buildings steadily increase. The need of flexibility in utilisation of industrial buildings is rising and quick changes of production process need to be feasible, for instance, if a logistic centre will be used as laboratory. Furthermore, the government lays a stronger emphasis on sustainability and efficiency of modern industrial buildings. Current structures, processes and services in the construction industry are not suitable for the new requirements. This paper presents an approach which tries to handle the named complexity during the development process as well as an innovative product service system for the construction industry.
